Additional information is needed about effective, feasible, and sustainable policy approaches for TDV prevention. Current literature contains little information on protective factors and effective strategies that occur at the outer level of the social ecological model, such as policy interventions. Consequently, insufficient data and knowledge exist for the development of evidence-based TDV prevention policy, and the efficacy of those policies that have been passed have yet to be rigorously demonstrated. While this is a challenge, it is also an opportunity for public health to take an active role in evaluating existing policies to determine their effectiveness.
