Life Skills Training (LST) focuses on preventing substance abuse and violence among children and youth. This school-based program targets the major social and psychological factors that contribute to the use of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana, as well as risky behaviors that contribute to violence. Using culturally sensitive and developmentally and age appropriate content, LST facilitators offer structured group activities and discussion. Role playing scenarios also help students learn skills and resiliency to resist harmful behaviors and influences.
