The Steps to Respect: A Bullying Prevention Program is a school-based strategy working to decrease bullying problems among 3rd to 6th grade students. Primary program goals include increasing school awareness and response; fostering socially responsible beliefs among young people; and promoting healthy relationships and social skills that counter bullying. School staff deliver the program through classroom lessons, and use policies and procedures to govern school-wide enforcement. Additional training helps school personnel counsel and coach students involved in bullying.
