Full description:
The Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) program is a short-term approach to treating adolescent conduct problems resulting from substance abuse, associations with antisocial peers and/or dysfunctional family relationships. This problem-focused approach is delivered by a trained therapist through weekly family sessions in the home or local office. By using strategies that reveal current family interactions, counselors can diagnose destructive patterns that allow or encourage problematic youth behavior. The family can then work on restructuring relationships to promote healthier behaviors and choices.
