Full description:
Community Policing is a value system within a police department that promotes a culture of cooperation between law enforcement, citizens, and public and private groups and organizations. The primary goal is to collectively identify and resolve issues that potentially affect the quality of life in specific areas, neighborhoods, or the community as a whole. This strategy encourages officers to develop and maintain positive personal relationships with citizens, businesses, schools and community organizations. Successful community policing programs have established processes for addressing citizen concerns and relating well with news media and elected officials.
