The program places emphasis on improving the quality of parent-child relationships, and fostering healthy patterns for family interactions. PCIT programs are ideal for families with a history of physical abuse, children with prenatal substance abuse and children with developmental disabilities. Licensed mental health professionals teach parents age appropriate discipline and healthy adult-child interactions.
