Full description:
The Early Risers "Skills for Success" program targets elementary school children at risk for early development of behavioral problems. This comprehensive preventive intervention aims to prevent the further development of aggressive, disruptive and/or nonconformist behaviors by improving social and academic skills and strengthening family relationships. Components of the Early Risers program integrate social learning, social development, and cognitive-behavioral models. Family advocates provide case management, consultation and mentoring activities. They also coordinate child and family-focused program components throughout the year to identify disruptive patterns, address needs and foster healthy family relations.
