The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) is an evidence-based training program designed to reduce problem behaviors, delinquency and substance abuse for high-risk families of children and youth. The program also seeks to improve social competences and academic achievement. SFP has child sessions that focus on setting goals, communication skills, dealing with emotions and stress, responsible behaviors and dealing with peer pressure. Parent sessions teach positive parent-child interactions, age appropriate expectations and communication skills.
